Overview

The Level 3 Award in Education and Training is designed to provide learners with a solid foundation in the principles and practices of teaching and training. This course is suitable for individuals who are new to teaching or training roles or who are seeking to enhance their skills in these areas.

Throughout the program, learners will gain an understanding of key concepts related to teaching and learning, including lesson planning, assessment methods, and classroom management techniques. They will also develop their communication and presentation skills, as well as their ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet the needs of diverse learners.

Upon completion of the Level 3 Award in Education and Training, learners will have the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively deliver training sessions or facilitate learning in a variety of educational settings, such as colleges, adult education centers, or private training organizations.

Entry requirements

Educational Background:

Previous Qualification: Applicants should have successfully completed a Level 2 qualification (e.g., GCSEs, Level 2 Certificate, Diploma) or hold an equivalent credential. Higher qualifications are also accepted.

OR
Relevant Experience: Candidates with over 1 year of professional experience in their respective industry are encouraged to apply, as their practical knowledge is highly valued.

Age Requirement:

Minimum Age: Applicants must be 16 years or older. This program is designed to support both recent school leavers and those with some professional experience in advancing their careers.

Units covered

The Level 3 Award in Education and Training consists of 6 units. Learners must choose mandatory unit and also choose a minimum of 6 credits from options group A and a minimum of 3 credits from options group B to achieve 12 credits to receive the Award:

Mandatory unit
● Understanding Roles, Responsibilities and Relationships in Education and Training (3 credits)

Optional unit - Group A (Choose minimum 6 credits)
● Understanding and Using Inclusive Teaching and Learning Approaches in Education and Training (3 credits)
● Facilitate Learning and Development for Individuals (3 credits)
● Facilitate Learning and Development in Groups (3 credits)

Optional unit - Group B (Choose minimum 3 credits)
● Understanding Assessment in Education and Training (3 credits)
● Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment (3 credits)
