Overview

The Level 3 Certificate in Computerised Accounting is a comprehensive program designed to provide students with the essential skills and knowledge needed to effectively manage financial records using computerized accounting software. This course covers the fundamental principles of computerized accounting, including setting up accounts, processing transactions, generating financial reports, and utilizing accounting software features. Students will learn how to accurately record and analyze financial data, reconcile accounts, handle VAT returns, and produce financial reports using popular accounting software. The course aims to equip students with practical skills that are in high demand in the accounting and finance sector, preparing them for entry-level roles in bookkeeping, accounting administration, or further studies in accounting.

Entry requirements

Educational Background:

• Previous Qualification: Applicants should have successfully completed a Level 2 qualification (e.g., GCSEs, Level 2 Certificate, Diploma) or hold an equivalent credential. Higher qualifications are also accepted.

• Relevant Experience: Candidates with over 1 year of professional experience in their respective industry are encouraged to apply, as their practical knowledge is highly valued.

Age Requirement:

• Minimum Age: Applicants must be 16 years or older. This program is designed to support both recent school leavers and those with some professional experience in advancing their careers.

Units covered

You will learn how to:
Control and produce month end and year end reports including accruals and prepayments, depreciation and yearend adjustments
Prepare VAT Returns and understand how to submit returns online directly from the software via Government Gateway
Undertake the more advanced principles of preparing financial statements for sole traders and partnerships
Export and import information from spreadsheets using CSV files
Use the advanced credit control features to find out how well the business is collecting their debts
