Overview

The Level 3 Diploma in Early Years Education and Care (Early Years Educator) is a comprehensive program that provides individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to work in the field of early childhood education. This course focuses on the development and care of children from birth to the age of 5, preparing students to become competent and qualified early years educators. 

Throughout the program, students will learn about child development, safeguarding and welfare, promoting learning and development, and working in partnership with parents and colleagues. They will also gain practical experience through work placements in early years settings, allowing them to apply their knowledge in a real-world context. By completing this diploma, graduates will be equipped to work as early years educators, nursery practitioners, or childcare providers, making a positive impact on the lives and development of young children.

The Level 3 Diploma in Early Years Education and Care (Early Years Educator) consists of 15 mandatory units for a combined total of 83 credits.

● Understanding the needs of the mother and baby pre-conception, during pregnancy and the first year of life (3 credits)
● The role of the Early Years practitioner (2 credits)
● Legislation relating to Early Years practice (9 credits)
● Working in partnership (3 credits)
● Supporting children through play in Early Years (14 credits)
● Developing the literacy, mathematical and communication skills of children (10 credits)
