Overview

The Level 4 + Level 5 Diploma in Early Learning and Childcare is a comprehensive program designed to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills required to work effectively in the field of early childhood education. This course combines two levels of study, providing a holistic understanding of child development, curriculum planning, health and safety, and inclusive teaching practices. Through a blend of theoretical learning and practical experience, students will gain the competencies necessary to support the learning and development of young children. Upon completion, graduates will be prepared to pursue rewarding careers as qualified early childhood educators or progress to higher levels of study in the field.

Entry requirements

Educational Background:

• Previous Qualification: Applicants should have successfully completed a Level 3 qualification (e.g., Level 3 Diploma, Certificate, A-levels, BTEC National Diploma) or hold an equivalent credential. Higher qualifications are also accepted.

• Relevant Experience: Candidates with over 2 years of professional experience in their respective industry are encouraged to apply, as their practical knowledge is highly valued.

Age Requirement:

• Minimum Age: Applicants must be 18 years or older. This program is designed to support both recent graduates and experienced professionals in advancing their careers.

Level 4 Diploma in Early Learning and Childcare (40 credits)

• Child development and enabling children to learn (9 credits)
• Physical activity and nutrition co-ordination (PANCo) in early years (6 credits)
• Supporting children with additional needs (4 credits)
• Partnership working in early years settings (6 credits)
• Implementing and evaluating change through a research project (6 credits)
• Legal requirements in childcare (3 credits)
• Assessing and planning for children’s changing developmental needs (6 credits)

 

Level 5 Diploma in Early Learning and Childcare (120 credits) 

• Management of children’s care (20 credits)
• Children’s well-being and resilience (26 credits)
• Positive behaviour in early years (20 credits)
• Child development and communication skills in early years (30 credits)
• Managing children’s holistic development in early years (16 credits)
• Health and safety in early years (8 credits)

● Payment option (a): GBP £275 x 8 monthly instalments
● Payment option (b): GBP £1100 x 2 quarterly instalments

Standard mode: 18 months - GBP £1500

● Payment option (d): GBP £125 x 12 monthly instalments
● Payment option (e): GBP £500 x 3 quarterly instalments
